This poetry album by the Albanian national poet Kristo Floqi opens with three poems written in memory of his four children who died at a very young age\u2014Tefta, Shpresa, Drita, and his son (whose name I do not know)\u2014as well as his mother, Angjelina Mitko, whom he affectionately calls \u201cShpatore.\u201d<\/p>\n

The album is then divided into three parts.<\/p>\n

The first part contains Kristo Floqi\u2019s poems that appear in the school textbook \u201cSHK\u00cbNDIJA\u201d (\u201cThe Spark\u201d). He writes that this work was published in two volumes and contains a total of 600 poem titles, but I have not been able to find the second volume.<\/p>\n

The second part includes poems from the book \u201cTING\u00cbLLIMET E ZEMBR\u00cbS\u201d (\u201cEchoes of the Heart\u201d), consisting mainly of love songs and satires.<\/p>\n

The third part contains poems either written or translated by Kristo Floqi, which I have gathered from various sources. This section opens with the poem \u201cD\u00cbSHIR’ E V\u00cbRTET\u00cb E SHQIP\u00cbTAR\u00cbVET\u201d (\u201cThe True Desire of the Albanians\u201d), the political testament of Naim Frash\u00ebri, which Kristo Floqi translated from Greek.<\/p>\n
